DietCheck Team

Since 1997 we have been designing and supplying simple effective feeding software offering nutritionists, farmers, vets and consultants feeding advice for dairy cows, growing cattle (dairy, beef and suckler), pigs (swine) and poultry. DietCheck is developed and run by nutritionists - James Rigby and Ian Brown. They are supported by Raewyn Densley in New Zealand who covers program development and sales in the Far East. Dr Jonathan Blake, co-founder of DietCheck acts as a consultant to the business.

Ian Brown
Ian comes from a practical farming background and spent 15 years working on dairy farms in various management roles. Ian has been employed in the agricultural supply sector since 1991 primarily involved in ruminant nutrition with focus on the dairy sector in particular. During this time, he has been involved in training colleagues in practical nutrition. For the past ten years he has also run his own independent dairy nutrition business. He joined DietCheck in 2010.




james

James Rigby
James has developed a strong interest in ruminant nutrition during his career. From the age of 13 James worked on dairy farms, progressing to Herdsman after leaving Harper Adams University in 2000. In 2004 James joined an independent feed supplier becoming a Ruminant specialist five years later. In 2019 James joined the team at DietCheck and is currently studying for an MSc in Ruminant Nutrition.



raewyn

Raewyn Densley
Raewyn completed a Batchelor of Agricultural Science at Massey University before doing a short stint with the New Zealand Wool Board. She joined Genetic Technologies, the distributors of Pioneer maize seed, in an animal nutrition role in 1991. Five years ago, she left to become an independent agricultural consultant. She has worked across the dairy cow, goat and sheep industries and also within the sheep and beef sectors. Her passion is working with farmers and those who support them to build profitable farm systems where animal performance is optimised.



jonathan

Dr Jonathan Blake
Jonathan was educated as an Agricultural Biochemist, and after studying rumen amino acid metabolism for his PhD, spent 4 years at the University of Cambridge teaching nutrition to medical and veterinary students. He worked as a nutritionist for a major feed compounder responsible for the nutritional and raw material specifications of all dairy, beef, calf and sheep feeds. He was Technical Secretary for the UK ‘Feed into Milk’ project. Since 1993 he has provided nutritional support to farmers, feed suppliers and compounders. Jonathan acts as a consultant to the business.
